Installation

Extracting Files

Upon unzipping ChristmasSnowfall_UNZIP.zip, you will discover two directories: 'Joomla 3 & 4' and 'Joomla 5', along with a ReadMe.txt file within the main extracted folder.

Installation Process

For Joomla 3.x and Joomla 4.x:

  1. Go to the 'Joomla 3 & 4' directory.
  2. Find the installation file named mod_christmas_snowfall_vX.x.zip.

For Joomla 5.x:

  1. Access the 'Joomla 5' folder.
  2. Look for the file mod_christmas_snowfall_vX.x.zip to install.

Uploading and Installing

  1. Navigate to Extensions > Extension Manager in your Joomla administration panel.
  2. Click on the Upload Package File tab.
  3. Use the Browse button to choose the correct installation file corresponding to your Joomla version.
  4. Press Upload and Install to initiate the installation.

After the installation is complete, the Christmas Snowfall module will be available for configuration and use on your Joomla site.

Module Settings

After installation go to Extensions > Module Manager and open Christmas Snowfall. You will find the following options in the first tab.

  • Change the "Title of the module if you want.
  • Set show title to Hide
  • Select an existing template position
  • Choose the Status to Published

Which position should you activate the Christmas Snowfall?

You can activate the extension in any of the existing positions of your template. It is recommended to activate the module in "debug" position if available.

  • Round Flakes : Set to enable if you want Round flakes.
  • Flake Shadow : Set to disable if you don't want the shadow around the flakes.
  • Minimum Flake Size: Set the minimum flake size diameter in pixels. Example : 4
  • Maximum Flake Size: Set the maximum flake size diameter in pixels. Example : 10
  • Flake Count : Density of the flakes on the window. Higher value will be more dense. Example : 100

Troubleshooting

  • Check properly that you have activated the module in an existing template position.
  • You can set any module position. Debug position is recommended but not mandatory.
