Installation

Downloading the Extension

  1. Email: After purchasing the Easy ShareThis extension from our store, you'll receive an email containing a download link.

  2. Store: Alternatively, you can download the extension directly from the Downloads section of our store. If you're a new user, you'll need to create an account using the same email address used for the purchase.

  3. Download Package: Click the link to download the EasyShareThis_UNZIP.zip package.

Unzipping the Package

  1. Unzip the Package: Use any file unzipper or WinRAR to unzip the EasyShareThis_UNZIP.zip package. After extraction, you'll find the following contents:

    • Folder Joomla 3 & 4: This folder contains the installation file for Joomla 3.x and Joomla 4.x versions, typically named mod_easysharethis.zip and plg_easysharethis.zip

    • Folder Joomla 5: This folder has the installation file for Joomla 5.x, named mod_easysharethis_X.x.zip and plg_easysharethis.zip

    • ReadMe.txt: A file containing essential information about the current version of the extension.

Installing the Extension

  1. Joomla 3 Installation:

    • Navigate to Extensions > Extension Manager in the backend of your Joomla website.
    • Click on the Upload Package File tab.
    • Click Browse to select the correct installation file (from the Joomla 3 & 4 folder if you are using Joomla 3) and then click Upload and Install.

  2. Joomla 4 & Joomla 5 Installation:

    • For Joomla 4 and Joomla 5, go to System > Install > Extensions.
    • Either drag and drop the installation file or browse for the file (use the Joomla 4 file for Joomla 4 installations and the Joomla 5 file for Joomla 5 installations).
    • Click to install.

  3. Confirmation:

    • A success message will appear once the installation is complete, indicating that the Easy ShareThis extension has been successfully installed on your Joomla site.

Note: It's important to choose the correct installation file based on the version of Joomla you are using. Ensure to read the ReadMe.txt file for any specific instructions or version notes.

Module Settings

  • Button Style: Choose from Small, Large, Horizontal Count, or Vertical Count.
  • Shorten URL: Option to enable or disable URL shortening.
  • Twitter Username: Field to enter the Twitter username.

Styling Settings

  • Padding: Set the padding value in pixels.
  • Margin: Set the margin value in pixels.
  • Align: Choose from Left, Center, or Right alignment.

Social Share Settings

  • Social Share: Configurable subform for selecting and ordering social share icons.

Advanced

  • Module Class Suffix: Field for entering a custom module class suffix.
  • Extra CSS: Text area for adding additional CSS.

Plugin Settings

  • Widget Position: Choose between Header or Footer.
  • Shorten URL: Enable or disable URL shortening.
  • Button Style: Select the style of ShareThis Widget (Small, Large, Horizontal Count, Vertical Count).
  • Twitter Username: Specify the Twitter username for sharing.

Style Settings

  • Padding: Define padding value.
  • Margin: Define margin value.
  • Widget Alignment: Choose alignment (Left, Right, Center).

Content Settings

  • Excluded Categories: Select categories to exclude the plugin from.
  • Exclude from: Options to exclude from Featured, Blog, or Category view.
  • Exclude Article ID(s): Specify individual article IDs to exclude.

Social Share Settings

  • Social Share: Configure social share options with a repeatable subform, including predefined social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and more.
